Timber Window Sill Rot Repair
Rot repairs need to address the damaged timber beneath the surface, not simply cover the visible hole. Filling a rotten area with silicone or filler and painting over it can trap moisture and allow the decay to continue spreading behind the repair.
Our process begins by opening up the affected area and removing all rotten timber until a solid base is reached. The remaining timber is then treated before a new timber section is carefully shaped to match the original sill.
The replacement section is bonded into place using the Repair Care system and blended into the surrounding timber, ready for final preparation and painting. This provides a durable repair while retaining as much of the original window as possible.
Timber Joinery Repairs & Restoration
Timber doors, windows and other original joinery are defining features of many Auckland homes. Over time, exposure to moisture and everyday use can cause individual components to deteriorate, even when the rest of the joinery is still worth saving.
Where practical, we repair rather than replace. This can involve rebuilding damaged sections, replacing individual timber components and carefully matching the repair to the existing joinery. It is a practical way to extend the life of an original feature without unnecessarily replacing the entire unit.
